World-Wide
Development of Marubeni Group's Environmental Management
System
Marubeni
Group introduced the environmental management system
based on ISO 14001 standards and created Marubeni Group's
Environmental Management System, which runs under a
World-Wide Single Certification Policy to cover all
Group's branch offices, subsidiaries and affiliates.
In October 1998, the Machinery and Chemicals were the
first Marubeni Corporate groups to obtain ISO 14001
certification efforts to subsidiaries and overseas offices,
of which Marubeni Thailand Co., Ltd. Is the first overseas
Corporate Subsidiaries to successfully obtain ISO 14001
Certification from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance
( LRQA ). |

Marubeni Thailand Co., Ltd. introduced the
system in October 1999 and have conducted the evaluation

Achieved the ISO 14001 Certification from LRQA in February
2000. The award of ISO 14001 certification is the manifestation
of the Company's commitment to maintain a harmonious
of all projects, prioritized the businesses with environmental
concerns, efficiently utilizing materials and natural
resources, and minimizing wastes and pollution. The
achievement has not only contributed to the enhancement
of Company's business opportunities, but will significantly
benefit to the surrounding environment and communities
in efforts towards Thailand's sustainable development.
